Russell Derrah, Senior Associate/Environmental Engineer, Ph.D., P. Eng
Dr. Derrah studied chemical engineering at the University of New Brunswick and is a licensed Professional Engineer in Ontario. His 35+ year career in Canada and abroad spans production, research, process engineering, process safety and regulatory standards development. Dr. Derrah assists federal and provincial governments with the development of environmental regulatory standards through technical and economic assessment of technical options to reduce emissions. Examples of work in this area include: VOC emissions from the Foamed Plastics, PVC manufacturing, a broad analysis of all Ontario industries that emit VOCs, and an analysis of technical options to reduce/eliminate the use of certain chemicals from the Canadian marketplace. Dr. Derrah also carries out Process Studies for private sector clients in the chemical manufacturing sector that include Process Improvements and Process Safety (HAZOP).
